Thats where we come in, we're here to help with information and Reviews on every different kind of lawnmower you can think of.
How big is your yard?
Arguably the most important factor in choosing a new lawnmower is the size of your yard, an automatic lawnmower isn't going to be able to manage a 5 acre property, similarly you don't need a Lawn tractor for your 1/4 acre block. The simple chart below shows you the limitations of each Lawnmower.
Choosing your fuel source
Electric or Gas? this is the question i get asked most at the shop and its one with a fairly simple answer, either. Well maybe its not that simple but to answer the question Gas or Electric lawn mower i need to ask you a few questions.
- Is your yard very large?
- Is the terrain Extremely uneven?
- Do you like the smell of gas?
If you answered Yes to two or more of these questions then odds are you're looking for a Gas Powered Mower. Electric and Robot mowers are great for smaller properties and can save you a great deal of time and money on Maintenance or in the case of Robot Lawn Mowers remove the need for you to mow your lawn at all. But when it comes to larger yards nothing beats the power of a gas mower.
Cost vs Performance
I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for, but don't get me wrong you don't have to break the bank. I don't trust sites that say this lawn mower is the best or these are the top 5 lawn mowers because everyone's lawn is different and its about choosing the lawn mower that fits you and your lawn whether it costs $200 or $2000. Thats why I've spent the last few months reviewing every mower i can get my hands on and compiling a list of the best of the best so that i could share it with you guys when you go to my Reviews section you can be sure that every single mower there from the cheapest to the most expensive is quality.
Automatic Lawn Mowers
It sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie doesn't it? But Robot lawn mowers have been around for half decade and in that time they have made some pretty fantastic leaps, but is an automatic lawn mower right for you ? my wife always says i need to stop answering peoples questions with more questions. I personally think the more you know about someones situation the easier it is to help them make the right choice.
- Do you have a small to medium sized yard?
- Are you looking to save time?
- Are you currently paying someone else to mow your lawn?
- Do you have trouble moving around due to illness or injury?
If you answered yes to 2 or more of these questions then an Automatic Lawn mower might be the right choice for you, after the initial set up you will never have to mow your lawn again, they require very little maintenance and its been proven they can cut down on your wifes nagging by up to 50%. All jokes aside i brought a Worx Landroid Robotic Mower for my father 3 years ago when due to his declining health he was unable to care for his own lawn and i lived too far away to regularly care for it myself. My father was a great one for keeping his lawn pristine and used to say "A mans lawn was a reflection of himself." so 2 days later he looked out into the yard and saw the lawn looking as clean and well cut as if he had mowed it himself, you can imagine his smile was worth every cent.
Self propelled lawn mowers
Self propelled lawn mowers can be great if you struggle to push a lawn mower around or if you have a larger then normal backyard with uneven terrain. but they also have their drawbacks, they require more maintenance then a standard push lawn mower due to the additional components and are usually more expensive.
So if you have a smaller property you probably don't need one. Self propelled mowers can also be dangerous if operated by someone who is not paying attention and it is for this reason i wouldn't recommend self propelled lawn mowers to anyone with small children or pets that could potentially be harmed if your attention lapses.

Electric lawn mowers
Electric Lawn Mowers come in two types corded and cordless, corded mowers require a power point and extension cable the obvious benefit of this is you don't have to worry about charging, but at the same time the cord can be cumbersome and requires you to pay close attention while operating it to avoid running over or tangling the extension cable.
Cordless mowers on the other hand obviously do not have this constraint, they do however require more maintenance due to having a battery. Electric lawn mowers overall require less maintenance then your standard gas mower and its for this reason they are becoming more and more popular. So if you are someone who doesn't have a large yard and is looking for a low maintenance lawn mowing solution an electric mower might be the right choice for you. If so why not head over to our Electric Mower Reviews section and find a mower that fits your needs.
Gas lawn mowers
Gas lawn mowers are in my opinion he most versatile, if well made they can handle almost any sized yard and most types of terrain, but you guessed it they have their drawbacks as well. Gas powered lawn mowers require regular maintenance and in colder weather need to be started intermittently to keep them in working order, they also produce a large amount of emissions when compared to their electric counterparts so they are definitely not for the environmentally conscious among us.
So if you're looking for a mower that can get most any job done and aren't concerned with having to do a little extra maintenance then i recommend you head over to our Gas Mower Reviews section and checkout what we have to offer.
